Ms Louise Rodger

Vice Principal

Louise graduated in 1997 and has been working in education since that time. Her career began in the U.K. where she worked for 15 years in a variety of school contexts.

After fulfilling a number of Departmental leadership roles in her first years of teaching, she realised that her passion lay in pastoral leadership and initially took on the role of Head of Year. She continued to work in the UK for a further 12 years in a variety of pastoral roles including the leadership of two Sixth Forms and the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead. During this time, she also held roles within her local education authority including lead practitioner for teacher training and advisor to the authority on educational visits. She moved to Dubai in 2012 and has been at Jumierah College since her arrival in the UAE.

Louise believes that quality pastoral care is central to the achievement of any student, focusing on the whole child and engaging all members of the school community to be responsible. She values the opportunities and support provided by the school that encourages them to become assets to their communities.

Further to Louise’s leadership responsibilities, she is a teacher of Psychology. She takes a great amount of pleasure providing engaging and stimulating lessons that share her passion for the subject, in the hope that her students too, will be equally as inspired by the study of Psychology.
