Miss Nicola Deans
Head of Year 8
Nicola began her career completing a Higher National Diploma in Sports Science and Coaching, followed by a BA in Sports Studies at Derby University. She then completed a Graduate Teaching Programme, providing her with a strong foundation in both Sports Science and Education. Whilst teaching PE in an outstanding UK school, she also served as a School Sports Coordinator, delivering professional development and organizing extracurricular programs and competitions for local partnership primary schools.
Nicola moved to Dubai and joined Jumeirah College in 2010 as a PE teacher. Since then, she has been committed to promoting student well-being and fostering healthy, active lifestyles both in and out of lessons across all year groups. Nicola's student-centric approach emphasizes the importance of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Over the past 11 years, she has been part of the Pastoral Team as Head of Year, passionately committed to developing and enhancing well-being, and personal development in every student. The main drive for Nicola’s career is to ensure every child is safe, happy and thriving in order to reach their full potential.
